Hard time

•March 4, 2009 • Leave a Comment

It is less than 3 weeks before the final presentation. Things are still not near the requirement. Sigh~

Basically we have to build a moving vehicle which follow black like. The line will split into two ways, left and right. So there will be a traffic light that will give the vehicle the command of either to go left or right.

Our vehicle have two control wheel and a single free wheel infront for balancing. So we control the wheel at the back in order to go forward, left, right and also back. To follow the black line, we equip it with line sensor which we build ourself.

Well, my part is actually controlling the two motors for movement of the vehicle and also control the power supply from the battery, distributing the power to all the component such as microcontroller, sensors, and also the motor circuit which use the most power. I did manage to find a suitable circuit design. It can allow the vehicle to move both forward and backward.

The hard part is actually building it neatly. To do this, we need to PCB the circuit. This took me a while as I am new in the ORCAD software. So new that I some of the conponents are initially wrong number in the pin number. So this totally ruin my PCB design. I have to work on in back. Today I just sent the renew version to the fabrication lab. I’ll get the PCB tommorow.

Hope we can finish this project with good achievement. Amin.

Oh yea, thanks to all of my team mate in helping me out. I really learn alot from you guys.

Missing the old days

•February 25, 2009 • 2 Comments

Somehow I remember the time I was in high school.. It was a very  exciting time for me, join the choir club, and found lots of new friends.

I am amazed with my achievements during my years in Maktab Duli. I was very active. I was the president of the choir club there, and got involved with alot of things. I remember I always failed my tests in chemistry, until the teacher told my mom to ask me to quit choir. Damn no I won’t. I love choir. And I was the president, how could I just let it go. Its a huge commitment . In the end I pass my A levels. Got A, C, D and d for Maths, Physics, Chemistry and GP. Alhamdulillah.

I thing I miss in choir is, singing in the group. Most favourite song during that time was the “Family Song”. A very joyful song. I still remember that song. Here is the copy of the song. Cover by someone in dark :p

Hopefully one day I’ll meet my choir mates again and recapture the memories. :) Continue reading ‘Missing the old days’

25th National Day for Brunei Darussalam

•February 25, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Last saturday, 21st February 2009, me and my fellow Bruneian in Glasgow celebrate our very own 25th National Day. It wasn’t as grand as in Brunei, but we sure are happy to be able to celebrate it together, no matter in small number.

The celebration was a very simple one where we went out for dinner together. But before that, we did our maghrib prayer together. Followed by reciting the surah Yassin together and did our Isyak prayer together. The religious stuff was held at Limin’s and Suria Flat. Thanks to both of them.

As soon as we finished prayer, we went to Tawa Restaurant for our small gathering.

Here are some pictures we took during the event.

And finally let us hear the national anthem of Negara Brunei Darussalam, sang by some bunch of Bruneian, conducted by a friend of mine, Abg Awang. Selamat menyambut hari kebangsaan yang ke 25 tahun. Dengan tema tahun ini, “Kedewasaan Bernegara”.
